Bunging Taff Rail & Final Varnish on Aft Cockpit Trim
Mar 10, 2026
A quick hour on Biscuit this evening to bung the taff rail, to apply the final coat of varnish on the aft cockpit trim board, and to remove the tape line of the nonskid sections on the cockpit seating.
Some work was necessary on the bungs themselves, as the screw head depth on the taff rail was more shallow than the other thicker brightwork components. The bench top sander helped accomplish this shaping, and with varnish applied, I then carefully tapped them into place.
I then wiped the aft cockpit trim to remove any settled dust and applied the final coat of varnish to the trim piece. In a couple days, after the varnish cures, I will install this trim piece. This leaves the just the cockpit seat trim - inboard of the seats themselves.
My final task was to remove the tape line for the nonskid paint applied to the cockpit seats. A quick one.
