Applying Antifoul Paint (11-17-24)

Nov 17, 2024

Having the harder work of sanding and barrier coat application behind me, it was a shorter, easier Sunday afternoon for the antifoul application. After church service in the AM, I gathered materials and made my way back to Sadler Point Marina to get her new bottom on. I would be using the Total Boat Krypton copper-free bottom paint, as supplied by the owner.

With a small paint paddle attached to the cordless drill, I thoroughly mixed the solids back into the paint. Again using a shorter nap roller, I applied the new antifoul across Biscuit's bottom. As done with the barrier coat, I would come back later to hit the areas hidden by stands and blocking.

After the required wait time for further application, I applied the second coat of antifoul to areas for which I had access. That would wrap up a short working day, but with a great milestone achieved nonetheless.,
