Blocking for Bottom Job (11-15-24)
Nov 15, 2024
Taking the afternoon off from the day job and having prepped Biscuit earlier in the week, I made my way to the shop, hooked up the trailer to the shop truck and made my way to the marina. Since the good folks at Sadler Point Marina were expecting me, they made good time lifting Biscuit off her trailer and setting her on stand and blocking. Since I had no way of lifting Biscuit to remove her trailer at the shop, a plan was derived with the owner to get access to Biscuit's bottom for a proper bottom job - this included transporting her to a marina with lift capabilities. With biscuit on her trailer, I obviously could not access the bottom of her keel, but I also could not access her forward hull where the trailer pads engaged. So, off to the marina.
Once Biscuit was made steady on her keel, I applied more Total Boat Total Fair (two part epoxy-based fairing compound) - showing up as the green patches on the bottom. I made my way around the already sanded and prepped areas with careful attention to areas requiring a bit of fill and fairing. With no rain expected for days to come and Biscuit safely on marina grounds, I made my way home for the evening.
