Completing the Interior 2 (6-23-25)

Jun 23, 2025

A quick visit to Biscuit helped to progress the completion of the interior fairing and paint process. Upon arrival at the shop, I removed the peel ply on the cabin sole and sanded from 80-grit through to 150-grit paper with the ROS 5" sander. From there I moved onto the spot fairing I had applied to the cabin sides, overhead, aft bulkhead panels and the forward portion of the cockpit well. I moved through these areas fairly quickly with 80-grit paper. After sanding the many spot-faired areas, I finished with a thorough cleaning by vacuuming the space. I solvent-washed the cabin sole in prep for additional fairing filler.

Back in the shop, I mixed a small palette of the TotalBoat TotalFair 2-part epoxy fairing filler, and with a squeegee, I then applied to the patched prior bolt holes in the cabin sole. Sanding to fair and paint will follow as I prepare for the installation of a mast support system.
