Stealing one to two hours in the afternoons is helping to bring the interior painting to a close, with the installation of the various trim components to follow. Arriving at Biscuit, I quickly got to work removing the amine blush from the fairing compound applied the day prior. After removing this contaminate, I used the ROS and sanded to 150-grit and faired the surface in prep for paint. The balance of the spot-fairing work had already been sanded in a previous work session, so a thorough vacuuming and solvent-wash of all surfaces brought me to the point of applying paint. This first application of topcoat paint was applied to the forward portion of the cabin sole, the overhead and cabin sides, the companionway bulkhead, and the cabin sole beneath the companionway itself.
Light sanding will precede the final application of paint for these surfaces. There will be one additional area to address: the cabin sole immediately upon entering the boat. She's close...
