Prior to taking a bit of time off for a family trip, and wanting to get some measurements to Somerledi's owner for ordering purposes, I inventoried the seacocks, totaling seven (7) of them. I took measurements of the outside diameters (OD) of the thru-hull, or skin fitting, as well as the OD of the seacocks hose nipple - in this case, also serving as the interior diameter (ID) of the hose. These measurements will serve the owner in the ordering of new seacocks and thru-hull fitting; the owner chose to go with composite seacocks from TruDesign, designed and manufactured in New Zealand.

1. Head Intake - a 3/4" seacock | thru-hull fitting OD 1" | hose nipple OD/hose ID 3/4"
2. Head Discharge - a 1.5" seacock | thru hull fitting OD 1 & 7/8" | 90-degree elbow OD/hose ID 1.5"
3. Galley Sink - a 3/4" seacock | thru-hull fitting OD 1" | hose nipple steps up to 1.5" OD/hose ID 1.5"
4. Ice Box (on a y-valve w/ galley line) - a 3/4" seacock | thru-hull fitting OD 1" | hose nipple OD/hose ID 3/4"
5. Raw Water Intake - a 3/4" seacock | thru-hull fitting OD 1" | hose nipple OD/hose ID 3/4"
6. & 7. Cockpit Drains - 1" seacocks | thru-hull fitting OD 1.25" | hose nipple OD/hose ID 1"

The TruDesign valves are engineered for below the waterline and meet ABYC standards with proper installation and use of their proprietary collars. Installation to come in July.
